The Garden Cienam Lounge.JPG

Located in Covent Garden, the extension to The Garden Cinema enhances the original Art Deco cinema with new lounge, bar, and circulation spaces, along with a reconfigured box office and improved visitor facilities.

A four-storey atrium introduces natural light deep into the building, acting as a central spatial focal point.

The design reflects the owner’s vision for Art Deco, translated into a contemporary language through close collaboration throughout the project.

A palette of creams, pale blue, warm orange, and signature red runs through the scheme, introducing a lighter counterpoint to the original architecture.

Custom banquette seating, geometric flooring, and curved detailing reference classic Art Deco interiors, while coffers, cornices, and skirting introduce crafted architectural detail.

Artworks by Pablo Melchor add a cultural layer to the interior, reinforcing its artistic character.

The lounge and bar areas are designed as social spaces for pre- and post-screening gatherings, extending the cinema’s role as a cultural destination.
